With changes in broadcasting from analog to digital comes many changes. For instance, more people are now considering the purchase of high definition digital movie camera technology.
Budget Models
This new line of videography equipment is now available for people on a budget. In fact, several High Definition models are available for $800 or less.
For instance, the Canon Vixia HV30 is available for between $580.00 to $972.00. This is one of the models that requires a tape, which may be less convenient for some people. It is capable of 10x optical zoom and 200x digital zoom and includes an optical image stabilizer. This is only considered a minor change from the HV20, a similar model.
Another Canon Product (the HG10) is offered for even less expensive of a price. This one was not rate as high as the HV30, but it was still given a very good recommendation. It is capable of 10x zoom and has a lithium ion battery. Image sensor resolution is 2MP, and its total MP capability is a very low 2.95MP.
Panasonic, Sony, and Samsung are coming out with similar products. They may range from about $400.00 in upwards of $2,000.00. It depends upon the purpose it is used for and how much money the user has to spend.
Regular budget choices of video equipment are of the lower price range. A good-quality one that does not have high definition capabilities is now available from $200.00 to $400.00 on average. This may be all you need if you are just broadcasting for fun, or you are only submitting videos to the Internet.
